Often acts of community creation are the most exhilerating and meaningful! Join Jack Tamburri and Jeremy Gable to learn how to plan and execute communal creation so that both process and product are an inclusive, joy-filled and productive experience.

Collaborative playwriting is artistically rewarding and is becoming a popular way of theatermaking within classrooms and communities that are interested in creating work together.
This class will provide an introduction to concepts in collaborative writing, practical tools to create collaboratively, and an opportunity to try it yourself in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Please bring something to write on and with - we will both writing individually and together quickly, as well as getting the work on its feet in a series of fun, community exercises.
Please bring to class: Paper/Pencil/Pen or laptop, Wear comfortable clothing

All of our classes have limited seating to insure individual attention.
HOMEWORK: You will be asked to do a short writing exercise on your own between the two class periods.

BIOS: Jack Tamburri is a theatermaker who has directed, devised, written, taught, performed and produced on his own and with companies including the Plagiarists (Chicago), PlayPenn (Philadelphia), Ma-Yi Theater Co (NYC), FringeArts (Philadelphia), Yale Cabaret (New Haven), Dreamcatcher Rep (New Jersey), and the Neo-Futurists (Chicago). He is the co-creator of GAYZE and Not for Profit with playwright MJ Kaufman, and of School Play with writer/performer Terry Brennan. He has also assisted visionary directors including Blanka Zizka, Sean Graney, Charles Newell, and Christopher Bayes.
Jeremy Gable is a theatermaker who has written, devised, taught, performed and produced on his own and with companies in Philadelphia including The Foundry at PlayPenn, Theatre Horizon, Bryn Mawr College, InterAct, Philadelphia Theatre Company. He is the Resident Playwright for Sam Tower + Ensemble. Elsewhere, his work has bee produced in LA, Washington DC, Beirut and on Twitter. He has been published by YouthPLAYS and Original Works.
